ABOUT US
Welcome to the Psychotherapy Practice of Vicki Van Winkle, MFT

Do you sometimes feel just too worried and sad?….alone trying to sort out relationships, emotions, and thoughts?   Wish someone could listen and help you without telling you what to do?    Do you sometimes long for more peace in your life?  Do you wish you could find a way to grow stronger, so life would feel easier?

The Yogic Rishis of ancient India continue to illuminate the way to peace, happiness and wholeness through their teachings, threads of which remain alive throughout India.   In working with listening to and  helping others through the challenges and stages of life, I rely heavily upon the teachings I have learned from my studies at the feet of a great Yoga Master and throughout India.

The nature of being human is Consciousness…. by Growing and Becoming Aware, we can discover our inner wealth, inner joy, inner strength and learn how to let it flow out into our everyday lives.  As our consciousness evolves even everyday life can begin to flow like a fountain of abundance, a river of bliss.  As these positive experiences become more and more regular we can feel more relaxed in the process continuing to create more life, and better life, one step at a time.

This winding road leads higher and higher into the beautiful Himalaya Mountains of India , where with each mile it becomes more beautiful, more still and more peaceful….

It is also possible to attain to higher and higher levels of peaceful living as we move through our lives.  Peace need not be an unreachable, esoteric value, out there….. something we can only hope and wish for…

Peace can be our life-breath, our frame of mind and radiate through our daily lives.  When conflict and troubles come, as they do to every life…….we can learn to face them with more peace of mind, peace of heart, with a peaceful breath by learning even a few simple breathing and meditation methods from the wisdom of Yoga!

When you choose to seek my assistance with your inner and/or outer life issues, you can rest assured that you are choosing to come to someone very experienced who can rapidly understand and help you improve both the way you feel and how well you are functioning.

Psychotherapy and Yoga Meditation

In the periods of time I have studied, practiced and learned about meditation and yoga philosophy with Siddhanath in India, He has given me understanding and experiences which have shown me how to integrate ancient yogic methods of meditation, ancient systems for conceptualizing, contextualizing,  and healing the multi-layered physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual beings that we truly are.

Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath, Yoga Master

In addition many years of training and experience with weilding the usual tools of the psychotherapist I employ ancient yogic methods to speed the healing process.  I am able to use both eastern and western methodologies in harmony to assist patients and students experience their own unique wholeness, allow their energy to flow and aid them to attain greater levels of bliss and peace in everyday life.

Some of the techniques which my patients and students may learn include:  Hamsa Yoga (Hamsa Asanas, Siddhanath Golden Lotus Meditation, Earth Peace Meditation), Surya Yoga (an ancient system for integrating solar energy, and Babaji’s Kundalini Kriya Yoga.

Traditional therapy is always available for those who feel more comfortable with just talking things through.  Sometimes we just need to air our our own minds!
